Style Files: Little Girls Spring Style

It is no secret that C and I love to shop.  More than shopping I get a rush from styling my two littles to coordinate.  Not match but coordinate.   I also get incredible joy from finding pieces for their wardrobe that are not only affordable and stylish but are versatile and can be used for a number of different outfits.  Because, let’s be completely honest, as much as I love dressing my girls I absolutely do not want to spend more money on their wardrobe than I do my own.  The primary reasons being, they grow out of it way too fast and the mass amounts of food that end up on their clothes.

With that said, President’s Day sales start this weekend and Spring is upon us (dreaming of 70 degree weather over here).  To help achieve my goal of perfect coordination I, as well as C, like to put together powerpoints to make vision boards if you will.  (C is the absolute guru at powerpoint vision boards – if you need one, get in touch!)  Below, I have compiled my favorites from Gap for the little ladies.  There are numerous pieces listed that I can attest are THE best and go with multiple outfits (the moccasins, hint hint).

Gap Baby Spring Outfits

  1. Gap Eyelet Flutter Dress
  2. Ballet Knit Cardigan – Perfect for those chilly spring days.  This would be adorable over the Chambray Dress, Romper, and Eyelet Flutter Dress.
  3. Flutter Bow Chambray Dress
  4.  Mary Jane Ballet Flats
  5. Straw Hat
  6. Spaghetti Bow Dress
  7. Fringe Bow Moccasin – THE BEST
  8. Lacy Stripe Sweatshirt Dress
  9. Eyelet Espadrille Sandal
  10. Chambray Ruffle One Piece

Gap Toddler Spring Outfits

  1. Scallop Eyelet Top
  2. Eyelet Gingham Dress
  3. White Mini Skinny Jeans
  4. Flower Sunnies
  5. Pointelle Wrap Sweater – Perfect for chilly spring days and can be paired with most of the items listed.
  6. Scalloped Eyelet Shorts
  7. Gladiator Sandals
  8. Denim Bermuda Shorts
  9. Solid Peplum Tunic
  10. Chambray Ruffle Romper
  11. Moccasin Fringe Sneakers – Do they make these in adult sizes?

Most of all I like to keep the girls style classic and timeless with a few fun little items mixed in.  Fun accessories I love include, the straw hat, fringe moccasins (baby and little girl), and the flower sunnies.  My best tip for styling little kids is to plan roughly a season ahead or after the season.  I aim to avoid buying what they need in the season.  This method is how I keep the clothing budget for the girls low.  I look ahead and decide what I like and then I buy during online sales.  For purchasing after season, I stick to basics such as denim and jackets (in winter) and buy sizes for the following year.  Speaking of, there is a sale this weekend at Gap, so get shopping!!
